Gold Segun Temidayo's Story

A Story of Compassion, Inclusion, and Renewed Hope

Sometimes, a child's smile tells a story that words can scarcely capture.

We first met Gold Segun Temidayo during our Back-to-School with Dignity Outreach in March2026. Cheerful, resilient, and full of life, Gold's bright smile immediately captured our hearts.Like every other child present, he was excited about learning and hopeful about the future.

Yet behind that joy and excitement was a difficult reality.

At just nine years old, Gold had been living with a physical condition affecting both his handsand legs since birth. Although he longed to attend school and learn alongside other children, hiscondition had made access to education extremely challenging. A previous attempt at formaleducation had ended after only a short period, leaving him out of school and without theopportunities every child deserves.

At The Father Heart of God Foundation, we believe that every child is very special in the eyes ofGod and deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Moved by Gold's story, we tookimmediate steps to change his situation.

By the grace of God, Gold was successfully enrolled into LEA Primary School, Bamishi-Kuje,through the intervention and sponsorship of The Father Heart of God Foundation. The school'sclass teacher warmly welcomed him and willingly committed to providing additional support, particularly with writing and classroom activities that his physical condition made more difficult.

Recognizing that mobility was one of Gold's greatest challenges, we provided a four-leg walkeron the very day of his enrollment to help him move around more safely and independently.

Shortly afterward, Gold's mother shared a video update showing Gold using the walker. Whilewe were encouraged to see him work hard to take steps toward greater independence, wesought professional medical opinion to better understand his condition and ensure he receivedthe support he needed.

After reviewing the video, a medical professional observed that Gold's limbs appearedsignificantly weak and recommended a comprehensive medical evaluation. This led to his firstspecialist appointment at a rehabilitation center in Abuja.

Following thorough assessments, doctors diagnosed Gold with delayed developmental growthrather than cerebral palsy. The diagnosis brought renewed hope, as specialists explained thatmeaningful improvement was still possible through targeted intervention and rehabilitation.
A treatment plan was recommended, including physiotherapy and specialized orthopedicsupport devices designed to improve his posture, mobility, and overall physical development.Medical professionals expressed optimism that with consistent therapy and proper support,Gold could experience significant progress.

Today, Gold's journey continues. He is not only back in school, but he is also receiving the care, support, and interventions needed to help him thrive physically, academically, and socially.

His story is a powerful reminder that one act of compassion can change the course of a child'slife. It reminds us that when children are seen, valued, and supported, barriers can becomestepping stones, challenges can become testimonies, and hope can be restored.

As Gold continues this journey of growth and transformation, we remain committed to walkingalongside him, celebrating every milestone and believing for an even brighter future ahead.

Because Gold is very special in the eyes of God.
